Spalding Hotel Goes Green for Charity
A Spalding based hotel hosted The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning recently, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Red Lion Hotel held a cake and coffee sale in the historic venue, accompanied by a sponsored head shave of the new owner, Jeremy Powell and Warren Clarke, Business Coach at Advantage8020.
The fundraising efforts of the Red Lion Hotel through their cake and coffee sale, and the head shave raised in excess of £800 for the charity.
Owner of The Red Lion Hotel, Jeremy Powell said: “It was a delight to see so many people join us recently as we raised money for a charity close to the hearts of many.
The efforts of our whole team in baking, preparing and running the event were gratefully appreciated and to see so many familiar and new faces through our doors was heartwarming.
My thanks goes to Stuart for agreeing to cut both mine and Warren’s hair.”
Jamie Davenport, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said: “It’s thanks to businesses like the Red Lion that Macmillan can continue to offer support to people that need it most. We rely on fundraising for 98% of our income, and Macmillan’s services have been needed more than ever over the past 18 months. A big Thank You from me on behalf of Macmillan in Lincolnshire.”
The Red Lion Hotel was recently acquired by businessman Jeremy Powell, after being owned and managed for 35 years by Nigel Wilkins.
Upon acquisition, Mr Powell invested heavily in the historic town centre property, including an enhanced outside dining and drinking space, and this week launches the hotels new eatery with a tasteful menu.
